Imagi-Nations Project # 2

So the Imagi-Nations Project is taking shape. With two new Regiments complete. The Bordeaux from the Princedom of Alsace and the Von Karl Regiment belonging to the Duchy of Struddlhiem.

Bordeaux Regiment

Von Karl Regiment

Why Imagi-Nations? Because it frees me from historical expectations when playing scenarios. One problem I had with my French and Austrians. It also allows me to create my own uniforms
though its not easy to break the habit of painting historical Regiments.  :)

The current Book I'm reading.

  1. Playing historical accurate can be rewarding but at the same time a bit constraining so Imagi-Nation gaming can be a freing up..although I know what you mean with breaking the Habit of painting historically accurately. I´ve found myself making real world reasoning when creating Units and Scenarios for my Imagi-Nation Project, which can be, in some cases, more effort than using historical references.
You´ve actually got Grant´s "The War Game"...I´m jealous!:-)

    1. Yes Paul. Plus I have several Napoleonic Cuirassier regiments that never get used because they don't fit with divisional level operations. However I won't feel that way with Imagi-Nation regiments. Same I always want give my Napoleonic French an advantage in skirmishers. That will no longer be a problem. :)

  2. Yet another superb unit David. Historical or imagined historical, they look great to me!
Hey, this way you can paint your best design-your-own hussar unit. A bit like what Murat did with the Neapolitan army, haha!!

    1. Ha ha Thank you James. True I was always a bit jealous of Murat getting to uniform his own army! And yes there will be Hussars later on. :)

    1. ha ha I think you picked it up quickly! My Alsace Foot Regiments will be named after wines or wine growing areas and the Struddlhiem's from now will be named after dishes. I am just about to base the courageous Ribbensteg Regiment.

  4. As part of TAG Heuer Monaco's 50th anniversary, the brand is launching a series of five limited edition pieces commemorating the iconic square case watch. The first limited edition was made in the spirit of the decade between 1969 and 1979, and now we have got the second piece inspired by the decade between 1979 and 1989. Here we have the TAG Heuer Monaco 1979-1989 ref. Watch CAW211W.FC6467, and while I didn't expect to see a bright red fake Rolex Monaco watch, it looks pretty cool in its ruby majesty. Like each of the five lines that TAG Heuer is releasing, this one will also be released in a limited edition of 169 pieces. This model is specifically associated with the 24-hour race of Les Mans and the now ubiquitous 1971 Le Mans film starring Steve McQueen.
